Local Bookshops

Blackwells Bookshop Manchester

Bridgeford St, Manchester M13 9PL, UK – 0161 274 3331

Staff are very warm and inviting, prices are fair and it has vast selection of books not found in larger retailers.

Popup shop while new sections of the University are being built. The bookshop has a small but good selection. There is a Starbucks attached to it with very nice and helpful staff. Usually quite busy.

Waterstones

91 Deansgate, Manchester M3 2BW, UK – 0161 837 3000

Great selection over three floors with a cafe at the top. Lots of categories and choice. There's a lot of space to simply sit and read, and it isn't usually packed even when quite busy (unless it's Christmas). I've spent a good few hours in hear browsing the sections and then taking my purchase up to the cafe to read. One downside I have noticed is that on occasion books have been scuffed, marked or creased and this has stopped me buying in-store sometimes.

Something about book shops reminds me of being a kid in a sweet shop. Too much choice and not enough time. The store on deansgate is great. Well laid out with wide selection of books for all ages and interests. Perhaps a few more staff on shop the shop floor to assist customers with their selections.

I tried the hot chocolate and it was very nice! It is a nice place to take any book and to drink coffee with it!

Great store, very friendly helpful staff and a new cafe at the back, very nice coffee. Would highly recommend.
