Blackwell's Bookshop Manchester

Bridgeford St, Manchester M13 9PL, UK – 0161 274 3331

Normally I'd go higher on ratings, but for a while now Blackwell's has been nothing more than a fairly unreachable gazebo not far from where the old store once stood... But now at the end of a torturous detour. Nevertheless, a fair range of books and reading tie-ins confounded by a lack of space with pleasant and helpful staff.

Friendly staff and they have a wonderful cafe if you just want somewhere to sit and relax for a bit

Market St, Manchester M4 3AQ, UK – 0161 832 8563

Always friendly staff. Saw us looking at the empty tills and intercepted us before we had a chance to go downstairs to pay. Staff are always attentive and always make pleasant conversion with us. I needed to purchase a practice test for UK citizenship and we were directed to the correct area and then had a lovely brief conversation with the staff member regarding the practice test. They very kind lady even wished me luck!

Lovely cafe at the back, good selection of books with great displays and friendly staff. Nice quiet break when shopping in the Arndale.

Chapter One Books

Chatsworth House, 19 Lever St, Manchester M1 1BY, UK

One of the best Coffee shop experience in Manchester city centre. Versus excellent books for every taste and mood with various seating options. Tough to find a place at busy times. The coffee is excellent and service is very good. Cakes we tasted were awesome too. Few board games to borrow too. Love the indoor fountain Like the fact that they're open late now. Very recommended.

Very cool place. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious cakes. Great especially for reading! Coffee is not the best though.
