City Health Centre

32 Market St, Manchester M1 1PL, UK – 0161 839 6227

Despite phoning to see if I could access the walk in service and being told I could, when I got there it was triage only. I was advised to call 111 or phone an ambulance or go to Manchester Royal. Or to ring for an appointment tomorrow. But there wont be any available appointments if past experience is anything to go by. Heavy chest infection and I'm allergic to penicillin so important to get doxycycline quickly. The prescription could have been written in the time it took to argue with me. No wonder a and e is so stretched. Process over commonsense! If walk in is available till 8pm why was I refused a service at 4.30pm?? I was happy to wait for however long. Unimpressed.

Always so efficient and on time. The doctors are knowledgeable and always know exactly the problem. I travel from out of the area to come here

Push Doctor

Arkwright House, Parsonage Gardens, Manchester M3 2LF, UK – 0330 808 4702

My partner decided to give this a go after so many attempts to get into our own GP. To be told all appointments were taken and to call again at 8am each time! We had enough of such poor service. Anyway, I was a bit apprehensive about this push doctor. To my suprise it turned out to be the best thing we have ever done. within 1 hour from the call he had his prescription, at a cost but very affordable! we have 3 children and were so pleased with the service we now pay the premium £20 a month and it’s just fab. We have used it for our daughter who had impetigo and needed antibiotic cream and also for tonsillitis. We are not a well off family, but for £20 a month, our life is made so much easier by using this service. Highly recommend to anyone!

Having developed tonsillitis during the week and usual natural remedies and rest not working and not wanting to waste a valuable GP appointment, I tried Push Doctor. My experience was truly excellent. Yes I had to wait 10 minutes after appointment time but that is nothing compared to some waits I have had in GP waiting room. The doctor was quick, professional and prescribed me antibiotics after checking allergies and other medication. As soon as consultation completed I was rung to say that no pharmacy open now and that they would fax first thing this morning. This morning I had forgotten which pharmacy. I rang back and was quickly answered and directed to correct pharmacy. All staff I dealt with were excellent, polite and professional. From my experience yesterday and today, all I can say is well done Push Doctor. Brilliant.

Dr D Pawar

32 Market St, Manchester M1 1PL, UK – 0161 839 6227

All the staff at this very very busy city centre walk in health centre are absolute diamonds. I have seen for myself the verbal abuse some of these overworked and understaffed workers face from "foreign" people demanding access to our strained Health Service. I , however, cannot thank the staff here enough for all their hard work and compassion they have shown me during my time registered at this Centre and helping me get through my own troubles. These staff are like A and E staff, both medical and administration workers , on the front line of a demanding and very often abusive public and I commend all of them for their individual professionalism, patients and care they show to all walk-in and registered patients......Thank you. A credit to our treasured NHS.

NHS Direct is now NHS 24. Just dial 111 to speak to a professional or click the link below for there self help website. Lots of really useful info but keep clear of heart surgery! If in doubt ask your GP or call 111. Good luck.

Peaceful and beautiful place to heal your soul. Shame, that only few of people attend mass daily.

A beautiful church, with stunning stain glass windows and architecture. It is a shame the money run out when the started cleaning the building . also there is no parking at the church but it is on a very very good bus route and has a multi story car park near by .

Excellent service

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Manchester

The Restaurant Bar & Grill

Ridgefield House, 14 John Dalton St, Manchester M2 6JR, UK – 0161 839 1999

This has been one of our 'go to' places for years and it has never let us down. Whether after cocktails or a full meal RBG can be relied on to give you a quality experience. Other eateries may have overtaken it in terms of decor but with the cocktail bar downstairs and an outdoor terrace upstairs you can make this as casual or as sophisticated as you like. Happy days!

Outstanding food and even better service!! Truly wonderful experience and Tom W was the reason for that success. A true asset to this establishment.. well done .. and look forward to many more returns .. thank you

TNQ - The Northern Quarter Restaurant & Bar

108 High St, Manchester M4 1HQ, UK – 0161 832 7115

Really lovely place, good atmosphere and its business reflects the quality of the food. My waiter assisted me withy food choices and excellent choices he made. The duck was beautiful with the perfect accompanying flavours. The cheesecake looked small on arrival but was so rich it was just right. As a slight note I think the cheesecake could do with coming with some cream or ice cream to help it go down! Drinks were lovely and it was a pleasure to eat there. Will be going again in the near future!

We attended the T.N.Q restaurant on the 16th December 2017. We was asked to select our meal choice beforehand and pay a £10.00 deposit in advance, which we was happy to do bearing in mind it was a Christmas booking, and we was a party of 8 people. We had two menus to choose from and we had the ‘a la cart menu, and for starters, two of us had the pumpkin soup costing £5,95p and the sirloin steak for the main course £19,95p. We had a few half pints of larger costing £3 for half a pint. When the bill arrived it was well over what we had expected to pay, on closer examination we discovered the restaurant had changed us for a meal we never had, which was eventually taken off the bill. Did we all think it was value for money, NO, and would we go again NO, why because we all came away feeling deflated, and for the rest of the night the conversation was all about the cost of the meal.

Rosso Restaurant & Bar

43 Spring Gardens, Manchester M2 2BG, UK – 0161 832 1400

We called for the lunchtime menu. Amazed that it was not full. The ambiance is perfect, I remember when the building was a bank, but the transformation is very cool. Perhaps it could be noisy when full? The service was excellent - the perfect balance between friendly and professional. But we called for the food and that was simply stunning. Each element was very tasty, nicely presented and substantial. The house Sicillan red offer at £10 was excellent value. I can't help but think that if this was in West London, it would be receiving rave reviews for substantially inflated prices. It is an excellent reminder that value is rarely found in franchises.

This restaurant is located in a truly beautiful building! You may just want to grab a table at the bar to enjoy it! In terms of the food, I had gnocchi and they were okay but I wouldn't recommend them. It is a traditional dish and it was revisited in a way that didn't really do justice to it. The atmosphere was nice and the service good also.

Busy Bees at Manchester Fallowfield

26A Wilbraham Rd, Manchester M14 6JU, UK – 0161 248 6816

My daughter started going to busy bees when she was 3 years old. After being to three different nurseries in the area I was a bit sceptical of how she will settle inn in a NEW nursery. But it all went very well, the staff were very friendly and professional in dealing with her...she soon became attached to her key worker, and made a group of friends . As a mother is was important for me to have a happy , healthy environment fro my little girl, I found this at Busy Bees nursery. The rooms are always clean, they always have fun activities for the kids (planting seeds, watching eggs hatch, decorating cupcakes with the help of professional cupcake bakery) . Children have a daily access to the outside play area. Busy Bees has a Chef who always prepares healthy meals and snacks for the kids. Overall this place has a happy environment , the staff are always "hands on " and super friendly. The end of year party was yesterday, they had a magician performance , games, tea and graduation ceremony for the little ones (with little black graduation cap and gown) . My rating for Busy Bees is **OUTSTANDING** Absolutely loved it.
