NatWest

60 Portland St, Manchester M1 4QT, UK – 0345 788 8444

The service here is quite slow, when i went in there was 1 person waiting in the que in front of me, while waiting another 3 people joined the que behind me... In this time 2 different people walked into the back counter area saw the que but did nothing, it wasnt until the 1 single man on a counter called back to them that a young girl came and took the next customer. anyway after getting to the counter service was quick and efficient.

Queues not particularly large for a city centre bank branch.

The staff are pleasant and go out of their way to help. This is one reason Santander lost my business many years ago

Love this branch, the open plan, funky design and friendly staff make it a real pleasure to bank here.

Manchester Building Society

125 Portland St, Manchester M1 4QD, UK – 0161 923 8065

Local Chambers of Commerce for M12 4NL. These can be an extraordinarily effective way of getting into the business community and / or getting things done. Equally they can be entirely useless depending on the chair. If they have networking events associated with them definitely go, and keep going, if you have a business that need local support. What you put in is exactly what you get out. Below is the national site. Watch this slot - it might improve!
Manchester Town Hall

Town Hall, Manchester M60 2LA, UK – 0161 234 5000

Christmas in Manchester! The Market around the town hall is the largest Christmas market in Manchester. With all the shopping, food, and desserts around it's a good night out! There is something for everyone and it's beautiful!!

The Manchester Town Hall, although is now closed for refurbishment, is quite eye-catching; Both externally and internally. It hosts an elegant cafe, but unfortunately the service is very poor. If you book a wedding in their conference rooms however, you'll be treated like royalty. They also host the notorious Manchester Christmas Market each year and that fills to the brim with customers, both local and national. And of course there are the many businesses selling supplements and hand crafted items, many of which had travelled across Europe to be there. Many are turned away due to not having enough space to accommodate them. Instead, they are put on a waiting list. It is a building of sophistication, and is well maintained.

Dental Surgeries

Ocean Dental Implant And Aesthetic Clinic

32 Market St, Manchester M1 1PW, UK – 0161 660 0200

Visited Ocean dental as I felt my previous dentist wasn’t giving me value for money. As soon as I arrived for my first appointment at ocean I felt fully relaxed and at ease with the welcoming I received from staff at reception. Overall the dentist himself was fantastic and went through everything with me in detail, with regards to treatment etc which my last dentist didn’t pick up on. I would say great value for money if you’re looking for a good dentist and I can’t wait to return for my next appointment.

I have visited Ocean a number of times over the last year and I have to say that I have always received brilliant service from them. They are always attentive, interested in what I had to say and really worked hard to help in any way they could. Very customer centric and the best dentist I have ever had!

Windsor Dental Practice, Hulme

Denhill House, Denhill Road, Manchester, Hulme M15 5NR, UK – 0161 241 4555

I was there this morning for an extraction. Very little waiting. Extractions are never something to look forward to, but today's procedure was completely painless and the dentist and her assistant were the best I have EVER experienced. Totally professional, totally sensitive and gentle to the point where I enjoyed the visit.

hands down most professional dental practice I've been to. Staff are really helpful, professional and take time to ensure you understand your treatment.

Sutcliffe Dental

Sutcliffe Dental, 20 St Ann's square, Manchester M2 7HG, UK – 0161 401 2008

I moved to Sutcliffe Dental last year and they've been fantastic – expert advice and treatment mixed with a warm and genuine customer service. I couldn't recommend him more and he is a fully holistic and open minded practitioner.

WOW! The love, compassion, integrity, and positive energy that you feel once you meet Daniel and his team helped to create the best dental experience I have ever had- it was stress free, painless and loads of fun. Daniel and his team made me feel like I was part of their family- as if they had known me for years! They took great care and paid close attention to what needed to be done with accuracy and professionalism. At no point did I feel like I was 'pressured' into getting something done that I didn't need, unlike some other dentists who tell you, "This is wrong and you will need urgent and expensive surgery or your teeth will fall out!" I can't wait to go back for my next check up! Thank you Dr. Sutcliffe.

Doctorcall - Private GP Clinic Manchester

Had such amazing experience today in Manchester, was made to feel so comfortable from the minute I got there. Staff are welcoming and Dr A Petreanu was very experienced and such a friendly person. Took time to listen to me and gave me all the advice I needed. Thankyou so much, highly recommend x

Great Professional Service, Thanks

Wilmslow Road Medical Centre

156 Wilmslow Rd, Manchester M14 5LQ, UK – 0161 224 2452

I saw the doctors about my depression and he was very sympathetic and kind and understanding as I was very apprehensive and embarrassed to talk about but he made me feel comfortable. The wait isn't long too which is always a plus

Totally disagree with the former review, the practice manager has totally turned the practice around in the past few months, improving premises facility service and access. patients will not recognise the place if they attend today. Rubi is the most helpful person in the practice going above and beyond her role as practice manager. I am confident that most if not all patients would echo my review rather than the malicious malik saab

Dr D Pawar

32 Market St, Manchester M1 1PL, UK – 0161 839 6227

All the staff at this very very busy city centre walk in health centre are absolute diamonds. I have seen for myself the verbal abuse some of these overworked and understaffed workers face from "foreign" people demanding access to our strained Health Service. I , however, cannot thank the staff here enough for all their hard work and compassion they have shown me during my time registered at this Centre and helping me get through my own troubles. These staff are like A and E staff, both medical and administration workers , on the front line of a demanding and very often abusive public and I commend all of them for their individual professionalism, patients and care they show to all walk-in and registered patients......Thank you. A credit to our treasured NHS.

NHS Direct is now NHS 24. Just dial 111 to speak to a professional or click the link below for there self help website. Lots of really useful info but keep clear of heart surgery! If in doubt ask your GP or call 111. Good luck.

Royal Manchester Children's Hospital

Oxford Rd, Manchester M13 9WL, UK – 0161 276 1234

This hospital is amazing. My son has been coming here for a few months now and the progress he has made to his feet and walking has been outstanding. The service I have received from Mrs Parkinson has been second to none. Even if I took my son to a private clinic I don't think I would have had such good results. Thank you Mrs Parkinson for all your hard work and help x

Staff are great. My son had an operation there he was only 1 they were great with him. We got to the ward fairly quick. And he was a day case. Only fault was when he came round they “apparently” rang reception for them to let me know but reception were non the wiser so my son got quite distressed and I wasn’t very pleased because obviously I wanted to be there for my baby when he came round. Other wise though all was great. Although his out patients appointments been rearranged by them 3 times Which was a bit of a pain when I came to booking time off work.

Manchester Royal Infirmary

Oxford Rd, Manchester M13 9WL, UK – 0161 276 1234

Was induced here three times within the space of a month. 99% of the staff appeared caring and tried their best to help the patients. Obviously the NHS is understaffed but that is not this faculty's fault. They ran detailed tests to make sure I was okay and the waiting time was extremely good in comparison to what my expectations were set for.

Awesome staff. Friendly, helpful on all levels. Keep up the good work

EMERGE Recycling

Great place with lots of reclaimed materials. Bit pricey though.

Amazing service, friendly and helpful customer service team that are always happy to help. Knowledgeable in their field and they have a great ethos.

Viridor Recycling

Sandfold Lane, Manchester M19 3BJ, UK – 0161 224 0806

Great. Staff are very helpful and friendly (not too many sarcastic comments when I ask where the batteries go when I'm stood right next to a big sign saying "BATTERIES HERE"). Clear layout to help you sort what's what, good opening hours mean I can go after work. I can't think how a recycling centre could improve really.

It's a recycling centre. What more can you say lol?

Household Waste Recycling

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Manchester

The Restaurant Bar & Grill

Ridgefield House, 14 John Dalton St, Manchester M2 6JR, UK – 0161 839 1999

Classy as always. The terrace area with the outdoor bar is lovely. Retractable roof for poor weather days and heaters if it gets too nippy. Sadly though the service that we had was a bit slow and a couple of orders were forgotten and had to be chased up on. And it wasn't very busy so it was a bit of a puzzler. Nonetheless, it's still a nice place and great for a relaxed environment to chat over drinks. It is quite pricey here though.

Lovely sitting outside on the terrace on a warm day. Great service. Only disappointment was that I asked for my tuna steak to be cooked pink, but it was well overdone.

TNQ - The Northern Quarter Restaurant & Bar

108 High St, Manchester M4 1HQ, UK – 0161 832 7115

I love this place. The food is always excellent. The staff are friendly and efficient. The prices are very reasonable. Its very handy for Central Manchester but not amongst the bustle. I keep going back.

A delight! The express dinner before 6:30 pm is exceptional value - excellent modern British cuisine at a very affordable price. Very tasteful interior as well - it's casual yet chic.

Pieminister

53 Church St, Manchester M4 1PD, UK – 0161 819 1279

Fabulous tasty food. Great range of pies sides and toppings. Beautiful home cooked pies and you can taste they are home cooked. The pork scratching were to die for and the slaw with the steak and kidney pie compliment it perfectly. A great place to eat and I am glad we chose here to try somewhere we hadn't eaten before. EXCELLENT 😀😀😁😉

Great place, great pies! They have gluten free pies too, which is amazing. The goat cheese one is sooo good. Prices are not too high. I don't think there are any vegan options, except of a mashed potatoes. But I didn't understand why mushy peas have gluten in, that was a bit disappointing. But still the pies are great.

Public & Preparatory Schools

The Manchester Grammar School

Old Hall Ln, Manchester M13 0XT, UK – 0161 224 7201

Best boys grammar school in Manchester. As a current pupil I have found that the student grades are exceedingly high with many boys getting in to the profession of their dreams. This isn't possible without staff. There are also a few people outside the school like Oliver Kingsley an old mancunian. You can do many activities here at lunchtime seeing that there are over 160 clubs a week. Getting stuck in is easy. You will have a decent amount of students for each year due to the cohort being around 180 pupils. The exams are not a burden because of the reward. Activities week is an amazing time to socialise with boys of your year and most importantly of other years. You can go to :the four camps- bassenthwaite, Wye, Borrow dale or grasmere or go to any of the other activities like general science, crixket camp or the Spanish trip to Sierra De grados. The staff are amazing both in and out of classroom and are easily approachable for incidents. You don't have to worry because the school is zero tolerant to bullying and support anyone inside the community of Manchester grammar

An excellent school. Approachable staff. Teachers can be contacted via email. Reception staff are always welcoming and helpful. My son has enjoyed his time here so far. Highly recommend.
